In this drawing, I was really concerned with replicating the intricate detail found in the calves' faces. Flush brothers, these bull calves were about 2 months old when I took their photo as a reference one spring.
This original artwork titled Brothers was graciously purchased by Charles and Judy Herbster of Herbster Angus Farms and C. Richard Weylman of Legacy Angus Farms. They have donated the artwork to the Angus Foundation, and the piece was auctioned at That Old West Magic Gala Dinner & Auction hosted by Bob Funk, Express Ranches at Natl. Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in OKC, Okla. on August 30, 2008.
